I have a lot I want to express right now. It is all swirling inside my head. Thankfully, it is a warm, happy bunch of swirls. Right now, I am not sure whether the topic is pets, loss, life, growing older, or relationships. I think the topic is companionship and maybe I will proceed with that in mind.
Oddly, these thoughts seem to have been precipitated by a strange little mixed breed dog that has been in my life for just under two weeks.
Enter Spanky. Spanky came to me after the sudden, unexpected loss of my dear dog, Bravo. When I lost Bravo, my heart imploded. The loss of my gentle, loyal friend of 9 1/2 years was genuinely heartbreaking. Those who have lost a friend know exactly what I mean.
